My story

From an early age, my life has been dominated by two competing passions. A love of photography and a devotion to all things automotive. I built my first motorcycle at 15 and bought my first Porsche when I was 25 years old…a 1964 356C. Since then I have owned and photographed some of the greatest cars and motorcycles on the planet and I’ve travelled the world to do it. Nothing gives me a greater thrill than the creative challenge of a new car or motorcycle photoshoot. I also love photographing people and have shot many iconic portraits of the drivers, builders and owners of the vehicles I’ve encountered…often just for fun!

With nearly 30 years of experience there are very few photographic situations that I have not encountered. Whether I’m hanging from the open doors of a helicopter or controlling a 36 foot floating lighting rig in a car studio. From Scotland’s North Coast 500 to the Mojave desert’s Route 66 I can genuinely say that I’ve dealt with some of the most diverse environments on planet earth.

Over the years I’m proud to say that Ive picked up a few awards too. I’m the current FEP European Commercial Photographer Of The Year as well as the BIPP Advertising Photographer Of the Year. My work has gained me trophies from the AOP, BIPP, FEP, MPA and WPPI in the USA…(sorry about all the random letters). I have shot for EVO magazine, Octane magazine as well as Time magazine in the states and The Sunday Times in the UK. Ive written 5 books on photography, shot for Ad agencies and PR companies throughout the world and I have a large list of direct clients including The Guinness Book Of World Records who insist on flying me all over the globe to photograph their totally bonkers world record holders.

I am based in U.K. and have a studio in the south west. Its a converted barn with plenty of room to store my cars and motorcycles as well as access to some amazing countryside walks.
